Gas Conversion and Sizing for Turbine Meters

Sizing a meter for gas requires a conversion of units to Actual Cubic Feet per Minute (ACFM). This can be easily done by following a three-step process.

Please Note: All calculations are at sea level.

  • Step 1:  Enter number of units and type of units to perform conversion to Standard Cubic Feet per Minute (SCFM).

  • Step 2:  Enter the derived SCFM units value along with your PSIG value and your temperature in °F as directed. This will calculate your ACFM units:

SCFM =

PSIG * =

degrees F =

 ACFM =

Automatic recalculation (changes calculations as variables change)

  • Step 3:  Choose the proper sizing from the chart provided based on ACFM.
